Our Blown-In Cellulose Insulation Keeps Energy Bills Lower & Is Much More Fire Resistant Than Other Options

Fiberglass Insulation Options Are NOT A Great Fit For The Cold Climate Of SE Michigan & Metro Detroit

The best, most energy efficient choice for the cold climate of SE Michigan is blown-in cellulose insulation, and that’s exactly what we install. We can prove it’s better than fiberglass by telling you this one indisputable fact:

Fiberglass insulation loses half its R-Value when the temperature goes below 30 degrees. (R-Value is a measure of resistance to heat flow in any home improvement product that insulates. The higher the R-Value, the better it insulates).

And it doesn’t matter if you are talking about roll out fiberglass (the “pink stuff”) or blown-in fiberglass – they both are less effective when the temperature drops.

Any insulation that needs to stand up to a Michigan winter should not see this kind of big decline in effectiveness every time the temperature drops below freezing – it’s just not the best choice for our region.

We Pay Attention To The Details During Insulation

Failing to put enough insulation
This can happen when a contractor doesn’t account for the fact that the cellulose insulation will settle. If you pay for a certain height of insulation, you should get every bit of it. We always install enough to take into account settling so you’ll get every inch you paid for.

Failing to account for ventilation
One of the most important factors for the long-term health of your roof is that it be properly ventilated. If someone comes in and sprays insulation that blocks air flow from your soffits, that can cause big-time problems for your roof and actually makes your attic insulation less efficient too. We’re roof experts and we know exactly what to avoid so we don’t impact your roof’s ventilation.
